  • ASIC new Professional Registers Search tool will simplify verifying licensing status across multiple registers.
  • The PRS tool is part of ASIC’s broader digital transformation, aiming for a fully digital front door by 2030.

The Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) has announced the upcoming launch of its new Professional Registers Search (PRS) tool, set to go live in late June 2024.

This initiative aims to simplify the process of finding information on licensed brokers and other regulated entities. The PRS tool will offer enhanced search functionality, allowing users to search for licenses and registrations across multiple registers with a single query.

This improvement will help consumers easily verify the licensing status of individuals and companies, ensuring they are dealing with licensed entities. Users will also be able to filter search results based on specific criteria, such as licenses in their home state or territory.

The PRS is part of ASIC’s ongoing digital transformation initiative, aiming to establish the regulator as a data-driven organization with a digital front door by 2030.
