Saudi Arabia’s financial reach keeps extending into the sports world. The country’s massive Public Investment Fund (PIF) has now replaced Australian broker Pepperstone as the sponsor of the ATP Tour’s player rankings.

The move highlights the growing influence of Saudi money in sports, a trend that sparked debate with PIF’s backing of the breakaway LIV Golf tour.

“We enjoyed our time with the ATP Tour,” said Pepperstone CEO Tamas Szabo, leaving the door open for future tennis involvement.

This five-year ATP deal brings major investment to the tour and includes sponsorship of top events. It also moves the NextGen ATP Finals to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, through 2027.

ATP CEO Massimo Calvelli sees the PIF partnership as “a pivotal moment” for the sport, citing the fund’s focus on fostering growth and innovation.
