  • UK fintech firm Unlimit receives Tanzanian license, set to offer business payments, merchant services, and international transfers in the country.

UK fintech firm, Unlimit has received authorization from the Bank of Tanzania to operate as a payments service provider, allowing the company to launch new digital financial services in the East African nation.

Unlimit well-known for its cross-border business payments solutions, is set to introduce offerings like B2B transfers, merchant payment processing, and international money transfers to Tanzanian businesses and consumers.

According to Trevor Goott, director for Africa and India at Unlimit, “The new licence represents a major opportunity for Unlimit to streamline Tanzania’s fragmented payments landscape and support the local economy” 

As Africa’s financial technology sector continues its rapid expansion, Tanzania presents a sizable addressable market for innovative payment solutions. Unlimit’s market entry signifies growing international interest in the potential of digital finance to boost inclusion and commerce across the continent.
